How to Prepare for NORCET: A Subject-Wise Study Plan

July 21, 2026

Build a subject-wise plan, not a random one

NORCET covers a lot of ground — six major nursing subjects plus a general aptitude section. Trying to review everything simultaneously usually means reviewing nothing well. Instead, work through subjects in focused blocks so each one gets real depth.

  • Weeks 1–2: Fundamentals of Nursing & Medical-Surgical Nursing
  • Weeks 3–4: Paediatric, Obstetric & Gynaecological, and Community Health Nursing
  • Weeks 5–6: Mental Health Nursing plus General Awareness & Reasoning
  • Week 7 onward: Full-length CBT-style mock tests and weak-area review

Don't neglect the general section

It's easy for nursing candidates to over-focus on clinical subjects and under-prepare for General Awareness and Reasoning — but those sections can meaningfully affect your overall score. Give them dedicated practice time rather than treating them as an afterthought.

Use mock tests to find your real gaps

Once you've been through all subjects at least once, full-length timed mocks tell you far more about where you actually stand than re-reading notes does. Track your subject-wise accuracy from each mock and redirect your remaining study time toward whatever's weakest.
