How Many Hours a Day Should You Study for NCLEX?

July 24, 2026

Aim for consistency over intensity

1–2 hours of focused, active question practice daily over several weeks tends to build stronger recall than irregular multi-hour sessions. Spacing your practice gives your brain time to consolidate what you've learned between sessions.

Active recall beats passive review

Time spent answering questions and reading rationales builds more exam-relevant skill per hour than time spent re-reading review books. If your time is limited, prioritize the former.
